Plumbing 2 - Tankless Heater

 

Installing your tankless water heater close to the old water heater will minimize plumping work. The heater box and plumbing should be easily accessible and to have the most efficiency should have a short run to your most used faucets.


1) Wires from breaker panel
2) Temperature control
3) Hot water flow control and cut off
4) Compression elbo
5) Flexi pipe

MATERIALS TO HAVE
Copper pipe
Fittings
Shut off valves
18" and 24" flexi-pipe (optional)
Mounting brackets

WHAT TO DO

Use a cutting tool like this to cut copper pipes to length. Once cut use tool's point to remove any burrs from edge and clean end with green pot scrubber, coarse cloth or emery paper.


Mark pipe 3/4 " from end and insert pipe to mark. Push pipe into compression fitting with a twisting motion.


Cover all threads with 4 wraps of plumber's tape.


Use wrenches to tighten threaded joints.
